We’re massive petrolheads at Webheads and love working on Motorsport web design projects and of course great causes. Mission Motorsport ticks all our boxed as a charity that helps ex-military personnel. Using all aspects of motorsport, it aims to help those in need to ‘Race, Retrain, Recover’.
Mission Motorsport is aimed at helping those affected by military operations, by providing opportunities through Motorsport. The charity offers training courses and educational opportunities to help the healing process that many ex-military personnel require.
As well as providing racing days out to build confidence, racing instils teamwork between the participants. There is a lot more than just driving involved – racing encompasses a number of key skills that can then help applicants to find a successful second career (with the charity’s support).
The old website wasn’t doing justice to the charity’s status and wasn’t easy for them to update. We couldn’t wait to help them out with something more suitable. The Webheads team are also well known as ‘Petrolheads’ and in the past we’ve created many motorsport websites including Daytona, Head Motorsport, Adrian Quaife-Hobbs etc. We started from scratch to provide a full content site with CMS built in.
The new site is powered by WordPress, which means that the charity has control over their website content, from anywhere and at any time; they can add further functionality if needed and is popular with search engines.
Furthermore, we made sure that the turnaround on the design and implementation of the new website was quick. The team worked over the Christmas period and managed to deliver the site for launch at the Autosport International Show – a significant event in the charity’s calendar.
