The Webheads team were beyond delighted when we were approached to design and deploy the Cape Town Pass website. Being vastly experienced in travel and tourism websites, we knew how to deliver the perfect custom design to the client both on time and on budget. When a custom website is designed by us, it is done so to be responsive on both desktop and mobile devices – so of course the Cape Town Pass website received the same stellar treatment.
Cape Town offers a stunning variety of landmarks and attractions and so we knew we would have a lot of high quality content to add to the website. Each of these attractions and landmarks were suitably picturesque, just like Cape Town itself; so each of their respective webpages were adorned with high quality images of each one.
These attractions included the likes of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, the National Botanical Gardens and Boulders Beach Penguin Colony. As you can imagine from the names of these attractions alone, these provide a visual treat and experience for both those who visit Cape Town itself and also those who visit the Cape Town Pass website.
Being an eCommerce website, we ensured that the act of making conversions and an overall excellent UX were at the forefront of the custom website design.
Microcopy was one of the tools utilised to achieve this with text bites such as “feel like a VIP”, “save time and money” and “the ultimate all-inclusive Cape Town pass” being emblazoned across the website banners in eye-catching areas.
These calls-to-action led to a simple and effective checkout page that retained the website colourings of green, orange, yellow and white. Rather than being confined to preloaded templates, custom website design allows the client to retain their chosen fonts, colour schemes and overall branding at every element of the custom website design including the likes of checkout pages. This is especially useful for retaining brand identity at every stage of the customer (and potential customer) interaction online.
When connecting brands to their customer, the best custom websites understand the layers of connectivity that are possible. That is why with the Cape Town Pass website we made sure to integrate their social channels of FaceBook and Twitter and also added links to the App and Play stores respectively for those who wanted to avail of a purely digital version of the pass. In this way, Webheads realised the client’s vision of making the Cape Town Pass accessible to a worldwide audience via a slick, responsive and custom eCommerce website design.
